Problem and Solution
This morning, I knew many words such
as propose, solution, approach, answer, issue, problem, remedy and solve.
Because I learned about Problem and Solution. My teacher gave the practice sheets for us. In
the practice sheet, we found the main idea of the text, the title of the
passage and create a diagram of the text.
Exemplification
Yesterday was Sunday. The day, I had
a special class. I learned about Exemplification: to give an example in order
or to make something clearer. Words and phrases about Exemplification are for
example, for instance, such as, like, in particular, in fact etc. I thought
this lesson was easier more than other lessons because it was almost clearly,
easy to find and easy to understand. I did the practice correctly.

Definition and Classification
Yesterday, I knew about Definition,
it refers to an explanation of the meaning of the word or phrase. And
Classification refers to the act or process of putting people or things into
group or class. I learned them in Discourse Approach in Reading class. In our
practice sheets, we read the text and wrote the general definition, the focus,
divisions and subdivisions in the text. I thought this lesson was very useful
for me.

Cause and Effect
This morning, I had a sore throat and had a fever, so I couldn’t come to a Discourse Approach in Reading class. My friend kept the
cause and effect sheet for me.
Cause and Effect are used to show
how the facts result due to other facts. Words that signal the type of text
structure are because, since, if…then and thus etc. Because I wasn’t come to
class, I didn’t understand about the lesson. I felt bad.

Comparison and Contrast
Yesterday, I learned about
comparison and contrast in a Discourse Approach in Reading class. Comparison and contrast
told to similarities and difference between two or more things. We use it when
we want to explain or describe how two or more things were alike or different.
The words refer to show comparisons are both, same, like, common, in the same
way and similar etc. The words refer to show contrasts are while, however,
although, unlike, difference and yet etc.
From the text ‘Men and Women: Do
they speak the same language?’, I agreed with Tannen’ s view. Because men and
women spoke different and cross -cultural communication. The important thing,
men and women had very different about thinking. Men spoke and do everything
for win and business. But women spoke for communication.

Descriptive
Yesterday morning, I learned about
descriptive. The descriptive adjectives help us visualize the topic. In the
class, when we read the text finished, we wrote the mind map to descriptive the
text. The mind map had tell of the text. For example, mind map of Komodo dragon
tell about what is it, where to find if, size, sense, diet, appearance and
habitat. It made me easy to read and understand the text. After this class, I
read the text, I usually wrote mind map to descrip about the text.
